Nutcrackers Nutcrackers Citizen Participation Citizen Participation

A collaborative effort of health and built environment professionals, older people and students who will be diggng for pine nuts in Hong Kong.
Pine nuts are some attentive observations in the city where design can be further explored to help building quality environments for our people. Our parents and our seniors, where they will be happy and safe to live in.

What is
citizen's participation?

Participation of older people in the design phase is important to tune the market supply to the needs of (future) residents. Nutcrackers explore various ways older people and anyone who are keen on the topic to participate in the development of built environment, particularly new housing initiatives. The ladder of citizen participation is applied in our projects to explore different roles that (future) residents could play with levels of influence varying from non-participation to citizen power.
